Car Accident

I really didn't think this would ever happen to me. It was at 11am yesterday, I was on my way to my first home visit of the day. I got into my work car, got everything organised including checking the Melway to find out exactly where I was going. Then, I started off the car engine, put my foot on the brake and changed the gear from P to D - gleeeeee.... the car just went off like a bomb & I was unable to control it whatsoever! I still could not figure out what exactly happened. All I knew was it headed towards the wall opposite to the parking spot the next second, the airbags popped out & I felt like the car was going to blast off in a minute! I managed to open the door although the door was jammed & I got out of the car. The car was still rushing forward & I could smell the smell of explosion. I was so frightened to the point I screamed loudly & hoped that someone would hear me & come to rescue me... I had a few seconds on my own then I thought I needed to do something otherwise something worse would happen. I went back to the car & switched off the engine (the car was still rushing forward during that time). I then left the carpark trying to find someone for help. I saw one of my colleagues on my way back to my office. Thank God that I didn't need to walk too far as my knees were injured & I was in a shock status. She quickly asked for more help... Within 15 minutes, 2 paramedics ambulances, fire brigade & police were all there. I was sent to the emergency for a detailed check-up to make sure my spinal cord was not injured. Thank Lord for His protection, I only suffered from mild injuries & nothing serious. Both knees had laceration & were badly bruised, my right forearm is suffered from chemical burn from the explosion of airbag. Of course I was suffering from post-traumatic shock too! I had done some crying as I was so frightened. I was so glad that Eton came to emergency as soon as he received my phone call to keep me company. I did not have a very good experience at the emergency though - long waiting hour (more than 3 hours) & I was not allowed to eat, drink or go to the toilet. I didn't have anything to eat since my brekkie and I was in hospital till 3:30pm! I was so starving & absolutely busting! The worst thing was I got stucked in this neck collar & wasn't allowed to do any body movement and I needed 4 nurses to put me on the bed pan for toileting - how embarrassing. However, the Lord is keeping me from all harm & He is watching over my coming & going both now & forevermore (psalm 121:7,8). I really thank Him that I am still alive and I can still see my little girl, I missed her dearly when I was lying down on the hospital bed. I could not express how thankful I am for God's steadfast love. Because of Him, I am able to stand up again. Because of Him, I am able to see my family again. Because of Him, I am able to write this testimony & let all of you know how great He is! Amen!

Oh My Lord!! Thank God you are ok, Viv. Eton will certainly agree with me that Korean cars are not reliable ;) You probably could use some rest.
May God bless you and keep you always.

hm... the car I was driving (not yet managed to start driving really as the accident happened before I even pressed on the accelerator) was a Mitsubishi Lancer Wagon. It's rather new car too, less than a year old so everyone at work was really surprised that it happened. Thank you for your concern & prayer Sam goh.
